Daoist psychology (introduction)
Color-breathing and Qi self massage and Communication Qigong practice and theory. This is an intense way to clean yourself internally, and get a better relationship with your environment. Also it trains a specific way of healing minor or major problems through the contact with your internal organs. It calms and invigorates.
Daoist healing
Daoism is an important source for Chinese medicine, Taijiquan and Qigong. But more and more it is “discovered” as a useful tool for healthy living in many fields. Many books nowadays are published having the word Tao in the title. But what does it actually do for our everyday life. How will it influence our society, outlook on health systems and religion?
Chinese Language
Basic level, Advanced level and specialization.
Learn the language for personal use or to be able to understand more of the philosophical texts that have come to us through the ages. But also courses for specific fields of interest are given. Optional is studying language in China, as an addendum to what you have learned already or as a full course.
Tao Hongjing’s 6 sounds principles
The six healing sounds are often referred to, but rarely understood. Tao Hongjing’s method is the only one that roots in the Neijing. This course gives the method and the tools for movement, hand-form (mudra) and sound combinations.
Culture travels
The Oriental College also organizes trips to China with cultural plus value through combining cultural visits with practice of Daoist Qingchen and Wudang mountain Qigongs and Wudang daoist Taijiquan, these are powerful methods for health development and self defense.

Longmen Qigong
Longmen is one of the branches of Quanchen Daoism. It’s ideas are connected with the cleaning of the heart, but also sun and moon practices are part of it. There are 5 weekends in this cycle, but every weekend can be followed separately.
Dao De Jing Lectures
Series of lectures on the chapters of the Dao De Jing, with accompanying meditations. Emphasis on original meaning, historical background and how the lessons in the Dao De Jing can be used in this time and age for self cultivation, dealing with problems and functioning as a better individual and member of society.
Yi Jing Studies
The world-famous book of (ex) changes, the Yi Jing, is the most consulted book globally in the search for insight and wisdom. There are numerous translations and interpretations in almost every language. There are however many aspects of the Yi Jing that get little attention.
The Yi Jing gives you a better understanding of life, nature and the underlying organizational principles and relations, thereby providing you with tools to improve your life and help you with difficult choices.
Hand-forms (mudra’s)
Series of workshops on the hand-forms as used in Daoist practices, the exercises for fingers and hands to make them supple to perform the hand-forms in the right way and the historical and medical background.
Daoism in Europe
Daoism is as Chinese philosophy well known in the Western World. It’s original meaning however is strongly rooted in Chinese culture and society. How to use the valuable lessons it offers us in our western and modern world is the subject of these lectures.
Chakra workshop
Although Chakra’s are not used in Chinese medicine the system of chakras is used in other healing methods. This workshops deal with what chakra’s are, why they are not used in Chinese medicine, but are a part of Daoist thought and what you can do with them. Theory and practice, 1 weekend
Gongfu, Taijiquan and Qigong workshops
At regular intervals we organize Qigong, Taijiquan or other Chinese sports workshop weekend. Under certain conditions it is possible to have these counted as an elective. A paper is then required. For more information you can contact the teacher of the workshop concerned. The workshops are always open top not/IOC students.
