Professional Master Programs

After the bachelor program you can proceed in number of ways to complete your studies and start applying your knowledge in practice or teaching. We offer full time scientific academic studies for people who really love Chinese Medicine, Qigong or Taiji and self cultivation and would like to know what the reality is that Chinese medicines, Qigong or Taiji offer for modern Life.

Our aim is to teach you the core values of these arts and sciences, but also to support you to achieve excellence in your studies and practice. For this reason we have created for you a study that will help you to become an embodiment of the style of thinking and practicing of Chinese medicine to yourself and for your future audience of students and clients.

A Master program is a high level study following up on a bachelor or vocational study. It is required for anyone wishing to teach or run a clinic for the wellbeing of the general public. It is structured around 3 segments:

- Academic research training
- Skills in the professional field
- Research and apprenticeship

Examination is per topic by practical exam, questionnaire or paper. Accumulation of ECTS makes visible at what level you studied for exchange with other academies. Graduation per topic is required to accumulate points and qualify for paper writing procedure and graduation.

The Oriental College also continues to give guidance to you when needed after you graduation. The graduates and students and teachers form a family of which the members help each other when asked for.

The combination or prolongation with other fields is an opportunity which is rare, especially in this academic level. We are not saying it will be easy, but the opportunities are there for those who want to take them.

The cooperation with Chinese teachers and Chinese universities will give you knowledge and expertise not to be found anywhere else. The extensive cultural background will give you also the chance to apply ancient Chinese wisdom in combination with modern scientific insights in this day and age.

We offer several  possibilities and of course it is also possible to combine two or more master programs.

The following master programs give you the possibility to start your own therapy practice, anywhere in the world.

Zhongyi (Chinese Medicine)

Chinese medicine takes acupuncture as its core in this study, but in its full study it is combined with one of the other topics below. The study starts with formula acupuncture, then proceeds with medical acupuncture and TCM, and then to continue with qigong acupuncture and one needle acupuncture. As a specialisation flying needle acupuncture can be followed.

Qigong/Waiqi medicine

Qigong is known as a practice method with many faces and many goals. People get to specialize in a few powerful qigong methods and from there develop waiqi (outgoing qi). Experience can be used in revalidation, healing and yangsheng health teaching.

Tuina and Anmo (massage)

Tuina and Anmo are separated as medicalized massage and revitalizing/relaxing massage. Each take different approaches. TCSMassage (Chinese chair-massage) is the first practice we start with as to show how movement and massage are unified in taiji principles. From there we take Anmo practice and continue with in depth manipulation of joints, channels, muscles and whole body.

Zhongyao (Dietics and Herbal medicine)

This traditional study of Chinese herbal medicine starts with food and diet, from there formula medicine and individual herbs are being studied. The relationship with fasting is explored and the relationship with support for wushu practice, qi practice and high level meditation as well.

Xinli (Chinese psychology, TCP)

After introduction in Buddhism, Confuicanism and Daoism as a personality forming practice, the acquired knowledge and skills are applied in TCP process therapy for counseling, mediation an therapy practice.


The following master programs give you the possibility to start teaching in the subject of your choice, anywhere in the world.

Taiji and Wushu (martial arts)

Martial arts training for all age groups is known to belong to the small groups of superior fitness methods. Wudang fitness is elementary in the Wudang approach we hold at the core of our program. We offer hard style gongfu but specialize in Wudang Taiji internalized gongfu. Gongfu for elderly and for children are also part of the program. Students preparatory studies in taijiquan/wushu are absorbed in the study program as well.

Daoyin (yoga)

Wudang daoyin practice is an important disciplinary practice that is part of neidan studies. It serves to strengthen qi, channels, muscles and awareness. It includes asana’s, handforms (mudra’s), sound and breath practice, meditation. It is a closed group of practices.

Neidan alchemy and self-cultivation

Although neidan practice is intertwined with all our studies, it is also a studyfield by itself. Here the study is directed towards acquiring neidan teaching qualities

The following master programs give you the possibility apply the knowledge and art  in the subject of your choice, anywhere in the world.

Zhongjiao (Chinese religion and spirituality)

Many people are attracted to Chinese religion and spirituality. Investigation of its institutions and practices stand central, not only from academic perspectives, but also in relationship to community building and ceremonial guidance.

Research and management

This short study pitches towards management and research functions. It can be fully performed by means of distance education. It is a welcome addition to people who have studied Chinese Medicine or Gongfu but who would like to upgrade to a master degree level.

Yi Jing studies

This study is aimed at becoming a Yi Jing counsellor and researcher. It can be combined with Ming Shu (Chinese astrology) end Feng Shui studies.
